About Project:

3D Digitization of Roman Sculptures from the Museum of Vojvodina

In collaboration with the Museum of Vojvodina in Novi Sad and a team from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, a project was carried out to 3D digitize Roman sculptures. The museum collection selected for digitization included sculptures of various sizes — from finely crafted miniatures to impressive monumental works. The goal of the project was to create high-fidelity digital replicas of the artworks using photogrammetry, for the purposes of scientific research and academic documentation. The digitized artifacts were integrated into a web-based 360-degree viewing platform, enabling a broader audience to explore and study Roman sculptures in greater detail. Through interactive presentation and modern visualization technologies, users were given access to fine sculptural features that are often difficult to observe in traditional museum settings.

Results and Impact:

This digitization project contributed to the preservation of cultural heritage and enriched the visitor experience in an innovative and accessible way. It also included a scientific analysis, comparing the accuracy of photogrammetric reconstructions with the original Roman sculptures.
